SXSW is known for its many product launches and portal into the future, so of course – as a company leading the way with the world’s first serverless CMS, we showcased Scrivito at this year’s event. I was joined by two of my colleagues who flew in from Germany: Thomas Witt and Bernd Völcker. On Thursday, we started our experience with a Taco Party at Guero’s Taco Bar, then got to taste some of Austin’s famed nightlife. Friday quickly arrived, where we had countless meet and greets, then we went off to Buffalo Billiards to set up for the SXSW Founder & Developer Mixer with our co-hosts - Thoughtbot. Our event was a huge success with over 400 people in attendance. Everyone got to learn more about Scrivito, while enjoying complimentary appetizers and drinks. Of course, there was plenty of swag being handed out as well with the t-shirts and stickers being the favorites. Saturday was a back to back day of sessions across a wide range of tracks, we made stops at Mashable House, Fast Company Grill, Scandinavian House, and German Haus to name just a few. Sunday was another busy day of sessions, followed by meetings with some of our contacts and new friends. In the afternoon, we hosted a second event in collaboration with Knotel at their great little spot on the Colorado River. Afterwards, we attended some of the other official events such as SXSW BBQ Brunch and Brands, LA/NYC Getdown and more. On Monday we attended a few more sessions before heading on to the SXSW Trade Show. Innovative companies of all shapes and sizes were set up to showcase their new products and make new connections. Later on Monday, we closed out the SXSW experience with a fantastic party at the German Haus with Texas beer and currywurst. Sadly, we had to end the night early as we all had early morning flights. Throughout this experience, it was fantastic to meet so many innovators and creative minds. The motto in Austin is “Keep Austin Weird” - there’s a very unique vibe here. It’s electric, eclectic, and full of opportunity and promise all while being funky, fun and forward thinking. People come here to get inspired and make connections and that is exactly what we did. We left Austin having made new friends and having shared our vision for Scrivito to make everyone’s lives more flexible, scalable and secure.
